RBI Directs Kotak Mahindra Bank to Stop issuing New Credit Cards

The RBI directed Kotak Mahindra Bank to stop issuing new credit cards and onboarding customers online due to concerns arising from IT examinations for 2022 and 2023. The bank failed to address these concerns timely, leading to deficiencies in IT risk and information security governance. Despite this, existing customer services, including credit card facilities, remains unaffected.

JEE Main 2024 Results: 56 Candidates Score 100 Percentile

The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced JEE Main Paper 1 results on April 25, 2024, with a record 56 candidates achieving a perfect 100 NTA score, including two females. Telangana leads in state-wise rankings for the third consecutive year with 15 candidates, followed by Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh with seven each, and Delhi with six. Approximately 2.5 lakh out of 14.1 lakh candidates qualified for JEE (Advanced), with Uttar Pradesh producing the highest number of successful candidates, followed by Maharashtra and Telangana. The exam was conducted in 13 languages across 571 centers in 319 cities, including 22 outside India.

President Droupadi Murmu Confers Padma Awards

President Droupadi Murmu presented the Padma Awards at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday (22nd April 2024). Former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Bharatnatyam dancer Dr Padma Subrahmanyam, and Bindeshwar Pathak (posthumous) received the Padma Vibhushan while Actor Mithun Chakraborty, singer Usha Uthup, philanthropist Dr Sitaram Jindal, cardiologist Dr Tejas Madhusudan Patel, and former Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik received the Padma Bhushan.
