In a house where shadows loom,

I'm trapped within a silent gloom.

My parents' words, like knives they wield

 Cutting deep, refusing to yield.

"Why can't you be like him?" they ask,

Their expectations, an endless task.

But in the depths of my own soul,

I find a truth that makes me whole.

For I am not a mirror's reflection,

Nor a vessel for their perfection. My interests, passions, they're my own,

In them, my uniqueness is sown.

I dream of stars, of distant skies, Of painting canvases with vibrant dyes.

My heart beats to a different tune.

So let me be, let me soar, Beyond the confines of their score.

For I am more than their comparisons,

I am the sum of my aspirations.

I'll show them with each brushstroke, each rhyme,

That my uniqueness is my prime .

And though they may not understand,

I'll carve my path in the shifting sand.

For in the end, they'll come to see,

The beauty in embracing me. And in their hearts, they'll finally find,

A love for the uniqueness of my kind.
