Today, I want to openly discuss a question with you. After observing all the rituals, traditions, and faiths in our lives, at one stage we often pause and ask ourselves, "Wait, what?" 🤔 This question gives us a broad perspective on everything.
As India is such a diverse country, I am confident that everyone has encountered the various aspects I will discuss throughout this article.
I am not here to answer those questions, but we will have a thought-provoking conversation ahead.
Let's go!
As Indians, from birth to death, everyone has their own way of doing things and individual beliefs. These practices and beliefs are inherited from our ancestors and are deeply rooted in tradition and rituals.
In our childhood, we don't think about these things seriously. Even now, we don't necessarily have to. With a selfless heart, when a festival comes, we immediately think of new dresses, tasty food, and vacations only.
Since childhood, we have been habituated to follow rituals as instructed by our parents or to imitate others in the same religion. Unfortunately, if we ask why we have to do these things, the immediate response is often, "Just do what I said," or we are convinced to believe it simply because others are doing it or because it's the way of our ancestors.
At this stage, we accept everything happening around us despite the lack of certainty. Additionally, we don't want to dig deep into these things because nothing makes sense to us, and we are unable to connect the dots.
Here is where people become either strong custom believers, uncertain individuals, or those who conclude that everything is self-made nothing like God.
From the start, we are taught to believe that our desires are directly proportional to the mercy of God. The better we worship the Lord the more good things will happen to us and our family. I fact that faith literally helps in our lowest stages as hope.
The real question arises when we see people around us having a better life than those who are very sincere in terms of rituals and hard work. This is when we start to evaluate everything happening around us from a broader perspective.
As everyone has their own problems, no one has the time to solve the mystery of God's existence. Of course, no one can.
This is where we encounter some of the proofs of God's existence, suggesting they actually lived on Earth. In fact, when we see some rituals involving self-harm as a symbol of devotion, we might even ask, "Did God ask for this?"
This makes us even more confused and makes us question our belief system. If nothing is there, why would they hurt themselves in the name of God? What's the logic behind all these things!?
In fact, we don't necessarily have to conclude anything. Even if we try, we can't. So, let's leave it as it is. However, if we try to understand the essence of everything, even a small mind can grasp that these acts are ways to worship the hidden power responsible for all creation.
In that creation being a human is such a blessing we all have to be super grateful. So, embrace each second on earth, be kind God is way more than book, statue, idle or form.
