In Goa's embrace, with cashews at hand

A culinary quest across the land

A festival beckons, a chance to inspire 

A dish so unique, sets taste buds on fire.

 

Anacardium! A tongue-twister true 

But the evergreen tree, a sight to imbue

Native to Brazil, a tropical grace

Goa, India's champion in its warm embrace.

Cashew apples, a vibrant display

Reddish to yellow, lighting the way

Sweet pulp for jams and delectable treats

Or a tangy juice to cool down the heat

Fermented and distilled, a potent delight

Feni, the spirit that sets the night alight

The towering trees, reaching out to sky

Now tamed to dwarf size, their bounty brought nigh.

Missionaries' touch, a gift from afar

Cashew's abundance, a coastal star.

Not just the fruit, a treasure untold

Wood for the crafts, a story unfolds

Boats, crates and charcoal 

The cashews provide

Resin, an ally on nature's side.

Insect control, a weapon so keen

But Plastic! A dark path, a future unseen.

A traditional wisdom, a way to explore 

Medicinal embrace for what nature bore.

Lost in this knowledge, the recipe went astray

A secret ingredient, hidden away

A dash, a sprinkle unseen by the eye

My cashew creation, a flavour to fly 

Cakes and pies… the delightful surprise 

The taste of Goa, beneath the sunny sky.
