Stress feels similar, juggling too many things at once.

When we look for advices on stress, most of them are to do with long run like getting enough sleep, practice yoga, healthy diet etc. But how do we handle the stress in the moment when we overcome with it from multiple things? Say, a bad morning at home, a bad app review with a demanding client, and your boss assigning another tight schedule parallel project.

Focusing on multiple tasks at a time, switching back and forth between two or more tasks repeatedly, or focusing on many things in a short period of time can be called as ‘multitasking’ and that may create the stress in the moment. If we are not careful, it can spiral out of control.

Tips to Manage Stress in the Moment:

  • Slow Down: Focus on one task at a time. This will increase your productivity and lets you stress free.
  • Mindfulness: Take a few deep breaths and focus on the present moment. This can help you feel calmer and more centered.
  • Make a To-Do List: Write down everything you need to do. This clears your head and helps you prioritize.
  • Pick Your Battles: Not everything needs your immediate attention. Focus on the most important tasks and delegate or postpone the rest.
  • Break It Down: Break big tasks into smaller, more manageable steps. This makes them seem less daunting and helps you get started.
  • Say No: It's okay! Don't be afraid to say no to some tasks or ask for help. You can't do everything yourself.
  • Take Short Breaks:  Take short breaks throughout the day to stretch, walk, or do something you enjoy. This can help you recharge and refocus.

Manage stress in the moment and feel calmer and more in control. So next time you feel overwhelmed, take a deep breath and pick one tip to try!

Don’t forget to tell Panipuri wala to slow down or take your friends along with you to share the panipuri J Sharing the load, just like sharing panipuris, can make everything less stressful!

Happy stress-free working!
