Have you ever had that "Aww" moment when looking at someone and thinking, "How innocent a human can be"? Of course, you're, but what are two common stages in life that would make you feel that way? Take a pause and think about it.
Well, I wanna share my experience where I felt that.
I love to call this stage a period of NO feeling because it’s the time when a human can express the purest form of innocence to the world. This innocence is so profound that it can melt anyone’s heart.
This is the stage where they are unaware of sadness, responsibilities, jealousy, cunningness, comparison, and all the other emotions and challenges that humans eventually face as they grow.
I’m certain that when we see a boy or girl in that stage of innocence, we definitely wish we could return to that same phase of our own lives, no matter how old we are now.
I think you've guessed it—yes, I’m talking about childhood.
It’s that stage where we innocently gaze at our friend’s food, secretly wishing we could have a bite. Where we look at a house full of relatives and wonder, "Why are all these people here today?" where we watch Cartoon Network with our mouths half-open in pure excitement, completely immersed in the moment.
How adorable that stage is, even just remembering it brings a sense of joy and warmth. Those innocent moments make childhood feel like a treasure we can always look back on with a smile.
The second stage is the stage of experiencing all the feelings. It’s the opposite of childhood innocence, where this period will neither allow you to do something further because your body/soul not supporting nor let you stop thinking I wish I could do better. This form of innocence may frustrate most people, but a few kind-hearten souls can truly empathize.
This is the stage where they are experienced all forms of emotions & drama of successes, sadness, responsibilities, kind, jealousy, cunningness, comparison, and all the other emotions and challenges that humans eventually gone through.
When you see someone in this stage, it evokes a mix of fear and a broader perspective on life. It reminds you that, in the end, we all reach this point, and no one can escape it.
It’s that stage where our grandparents struggle to eat noodles, even with a fork or spoon. Where they won’t stop asking if we’ve finished our meal, always concerned. Where their eyes light up with curiosity when we bring some Gen-Z food to home. This is also the stage where, at one point, they can no longer manage the simplest tasks on their own, and we find ourselves caring for them like we would for a child.
The main reason for this article is my Grandfather(Pawada Rayan)😊. Watching him struggle to understand this fast-moving Gen-Z world fills me with affection and admiration for his innocence. If you have grandparents at home, give them a warm hug, no matter what they've done for you or your family. Their days on this beautiful earth are limited, so let’s treat them with kindness. I know they can sometimes be a bit annoying, but it’s so important to cherish them.
