Do you know the real meaning of feminism? If you tell me, it is a revolution that was started in the 19th century and talks about women's rights and empowerment.

Well, Feminism is about gender equality in economic, social, and political rights. As per feminist theory, early feminists fought for women's rights due to seeing her miserable situation in the society . That's why, we think that feminist revolutionaries are consistently fighting for women's rights.

But this is not true. Although they want gender equality in the real sense,

If we talk about the contemporary world, we see women enjoying their independent lives in terms of social, political, and economic rights. This has become true because of the active feminist revolution. Do you know?

In today's world, she benefits from special laws that have been specifically created to protect her. This is all about feminism, so what is fake feminism?

The term advocates for women to be given priority over men in areas such as rights, property, and decision-making.

You should watch the film "Lipstick Under the Burkha," directed by Alankrita Shrivastava, to understand the concept of fake feminism more clearly. The film was released in 2017 and is the best example of fake feminism. Let me give you a glimpse of the film:

The film centres around four women of different ages, from a college girl to an elderly lady. In the story, the elderly lady falls in love with a young man, whom she meets on social media. During their sweet conversations, the man feels that the voice behind the mobile is a beautiful young lady.

However, when they meet in person, the man realises the truth about her age and declines her marriage proposal. When you are watching the film, you see the victim is she, not he. Despite the fact, that she pursued him by knowing her age and acting like a young girl, the film portrayed that the young man was playing with the emotions of the lady.

Fake feminists always portray women as innocent victims. Hence, they believe that women deserve more power than men.

This is a film, but do you know we also have some real-life examples? Here are some case studies.

Case studies

  1. Jasleen Kaur's false allegation case
  2. Arvind Bharti's suicide case

1. Jasleen Kaur's false allegations

jasleen kaur fb post

In 2015, a former student of Delhi University named Jasleen Kaur posted a story on her Facebook account with a photo of Saravjeet Singh. She accused Singh of using foul language to see her body. Her post quickly went viral, leading to Singh's arrest by the Delhi Police under sections 354A and 509 of the Indian Penal Code.

Jasleen received widespread admiration from celebrities, politicians, activists, and the public, who viewed her as a brave daughter of the nation. However, the legal proceedings continued for four and a half years, during which Saravjeet attended every hearing while Jasleen went abroad to pursue further studies. Unfortunately, Saravjeet's side of the story was not heard until 2019, when the court acquitted him of all charges.

Following his acquittal, Saravjeet filed a case against Jasleen for false allegations, but the court dismissed his petitions.

Do you not want to know about what reality is? Well, you should watch the Saravjeet Singh Josh Talk story. In reality, the argument between Jsleen and Saravjeet was about the traffic rules. On the night of August 23, 2015, the motor vehicles were stopped due to the red light. Saravajeet wants to turn, but a girl beside him stops her scooter and puts her hand over his bike. When he warmly said he wanted to turn, please take her hand back. But the girl, Jasleen, was arguing with him, and then he just said, “Tujhe jaha jana hai tu ja, mujhe Jahan jana hai mujhe jane de.” Based on his statement, Jasleen took his picture and posted a story along with the picture.

2. Arvind Bharti’s suicide case

arvind bharti suicide case

In December 2017, a young lawyer, Arvind Bharti, ended his life by jumping onto a train. After his death, police found 13 pages of suicide notes. Arvind accused his ex-wife, Richa, of being the reason behind his suicide.

In the note, he detailed his wife’s criminal acts against him and his family, from the false dowry case to mental harassment. He also stated in the note that whenever he started a new beginning, his wife appeared and destroyed everything.

He used his wife's statement to justify himself, which she often said,“ jeene to mai tumhe vaise bhi nahi dungi to bahatar hoga ki tum khud mar jao.”.

This was her original statement. Unfortunately, the police didn't take any action against Richa. Although the case wasn't highlighted by the media.

If you want to know more about the case, you should watch Deepika Bhardwaj in Josh Talk.

who is deepika bhardwaj?

Who is Deepika Bhardwaj? She is the only girl who talks about gender equality in its pure sense.

She is a journalist and activist who works on the hidden challenges facing men due to the misuse of laws.

The case of Arvind Bharti is highlighted due to her.

Misused of special laws for women

In these two cases, you can easily see the victim and the alleged defendant, but what about the terrible end? The accused, who ironically act like victims, have the great power of the judiciary system.

However, due to the haunted past of women, it is necessary to demand the judiciary system create some special ordinances for women, hence protecting themselves from some evil eyes and superstitions of society.

Instead, when we talk about today's situation, the condition of women is now recovering rapidly due to these special laws.

But some knowledgeable women misused her special strength for her greed and destroyed an ordinary or simple man's whole life and career, as well as her false allegations impacting his happy family.

In today's world, when we ask a legal expert or someone knowledgeable about the Constitution about the number of articles and amendments addressing violence against men, they can easily respond with a resounding "no." Ninety per cent of laws focus on addressing violence against women.

To observe the contemporary situation, the day will come soon when men will come into the focus of feminists. When they revolted against these hidden problems.

This was the translation of Arvind Bharti’s last words, which he wrote in the suicide note:

The whole judiciary system is always for women, and our government always thinks about her. Since his birth, he has been considered a criminal. I could not get justice while I was alive, and I will not get justice even after death. The biggest reason behind my death is my ex-wife, Richa, and then this blind judiciary system.”

How do we counter fake feminism?

It is just the beginning of fake feminism; if we don’t cut the roots in time, it will become worse in the future. The roots will take the place of patriarchy. So how do we counter this hidden issue?

Here, we come across the term gender-neutral laws. To see the continuing situation, our system should apply gender neutrality to laws.

According to concept cases such as harassment, rape, marital rape, physical abuse, mental abuse, and so on, the judiciary system often sees women as victims. Here, they should apply the concept.

If you may be wondering, is this the story of India only, not the outside world, that affects the concept of fake feminism?

So foreign countries are also affected. Thus, countries such as Mexico, Canada, and the United States of America adopted the concept of gender-neutral laws.

Conclusion

"When we talk about a person, we often mention that each individual has two sides: the visible, good side and the hidden, darker side.

For instance, when we are in trouble, a person might come to our aid and, based on a few encounters, we might consider them to be kind and caring. However, at some point, we may discover their darker side, realising that they are actually deceitful or even a criminal.

Feminism can be likened to this concept. It is a positive theory that promotes equality among all individuals. Feminism is based on the famous quote, "Treat others with the respect you desire for yourself." While this principle is simple to understand, some individuals misinterpret it, leading to what is known as pseudo or fake feminism."
